An understanding wife. Part I

Ihave a hobby... Nothing so unusual about that. Almost everybody has a hobby (painting, reading, collecting, scubadiving, world domination) I myself collect. I could have chosen pretty much anything as a subject for this (stamps, butterflies, coins, imaginary friends). All reasonable and more to the point small items to collect. Could I be that reasonable? No. I collect arcade games. Usually when I tell this to people they assume I collect games for my Atari or X-Box. If it was only that simple.

T he arcade games I'm talking about are of the put-a-quarter-in.-Where-did-my-allowance-go-to?, variety. So instead of a nice simple collection that at the best takes up a little shelf space or at worse involves politely telling people not to sit in that chair please, I have these behemoths of the 80's taking up most of the garage and a bit of our living-room. How many wives would put up with this, much less actually enjoy having them? It is fun seeing peoples eyes light up when they get to play a favorite from their youth again and besides cover for your car is soooo over rated.
